I’m in the business of creating things that matter—where usefulness is beautiful, and thoughtful design makes a positive impact. I believe technology should feel inevitable, familiar, yet full of possibility. I’m constantly experimenting—refining systems that grow, stories that resonate, and experiences that feel joyfully intuitive.
I’ve honed this approach across decades of work—beginning in the 1980s with Curium Design ( a graphic design and brand studio I founded while still in college) and expanded into digital design in the early 1990s (web 1.0 and CD-Rom, remember that?). That early path set the stage for everything that followed.
Over the last 15 years I’ve focused on product and brand design, designing for August, PayPal, Samsung, Western Digital, and many others. I move comfortably between hands-on individual contributor and creative director—keeping the bar high for clarity, craft, and human context.
I’m a Californian with a BFA in Music Composition from Bennington College. Along the way I’ve picked up 25+ honors (IxDA, Core77, Dieline, Addy, Effie, ADC). Outside of work I’ve released several experimental and electronic works, ran a small record label, and am exploring creative ways of renewal—whether through upcycling art or cutting down on plastic waste. For me, it’s all part of a bigger question: how we can design and live with more care for our Spaceship Earth? (props to Bucky).
